JeepClub Events
JeepClub aim to cater for all levels from the beginner or 'newbie' in a road standard Jeep to those of great experience with modified vehicles. For the needs of those new to Jeep ownership we can give professional advice, tuition and support. Our events are beginner friendly and even at our rare hardcore off-roading activities or competitions we try to always make provision for 'Newbies'. Although our expertise centres around late-model Jeep vehicles - Wrangler, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and Commander, we have members with models right back to the original WW2 MB and all are welcome to our events. In fact, you don't even need to own a Jeep to be a JeepClub Member. We promote a safe and responsible attitude to off-road driving and exert no pressure on our members to tackle obstacles they do not feel comfortable with. Help and advice is available at every step and the key to the concept is the informal atmosphere. As a service to members we also list events from other clubs and organisations. These may not be suitable for those in unmodified vehicles or with less experience - If anything listed here is not a JeepClub event please check with the organisers to see if it is suitable before booking.
2005 Archive
- Cornish New Year Night Laning Celebration - Saturday 1st January 2005

- Woodlands - Sunday 6th February 2005
A welcome return to the ever-popular Woodlands site which is a firm favourite with many JeepClub members. Approximately 5 miles south of Brands Hatch, the site is set in 19 acres of dense woods, with views of beautiful countryside. The site comprises a circular scenic route around the perimeter suitable for beginners (white run), with nothing more challenging than a few muddy potholes. From several points around the perimeter, you can watch those testing their skills further on the red runs, designed for the more experienced off-roaders. If you're feeling more daring, you can try one of the black runs, suitable for those with modified vehicles, including "The Road to Hell" and "Wipeout Wall". Toilets are on-site or there is a pub just round the corner if you need to warm up for a while.

A Family Day Out taking in the delights of the North Coast of Cornwall; suitable for all Jeeps on any tyres and drivers of all standards.
- Slindon Safari - Saturday 26th February 2005
A first visit for JeepClub to Slindon, although some of you may have been there before. It's a very sandy site with open areas for newbies, and axle twisters and a wooded area incorporating the black runs for those looking for something more interesting. There is something here for all levels of experience but it is more fun in the Spring and Autumn as the site can get fairly dry in the Summer.
- Wessex Safari 12 - Saturday 26th March 2005

- South West Area Fun Day - Sunday 3rd April 2005
This will be JeepClub's first visit to the Trax & Trails offroad site, in the Tamar Valley, 5 miles from Tavistock. The event is planned as a fun off-roading day, rather than aiming at specialist techniques, and there will be help and advice on hand to assist in taking your Jeep further than most owners will have done before without getting stuck!
- Whitecliff Quarry - Saturday 9th April 2005
Located within the beautiful surroundings of the Forest of Dean, Whitecliff is a disused quarry measuring some 40 acres. The site has a very technical nature and is used by the site owners for driver training.

Down quiet green lanes, you can re-trace ancient routes which were the very lifelines for generations of travellers in mid-Wales. These ancient roads offer JeepClub members a rare opportunity to view breathtakingly beautiful areas that no-one, other than very intrepid walkers, hill farmers and forestry workers, are likely to share.
- Sundown at Black Rock II - Sunday 12th June 2005
Organised on behalf of members in the Cornwall area, and following the success of last year's Sundown at Black Rock, this event will be a guided drive through some historical and treasured parts of Cornwall, stopping at points along the route for talks about the history of the area.

Following the success of last year's "Test Your Driving Skills" event, Eugenio has kindly agreed to run another one for JeepClub members. Designed to test, and improve your off-road driving skill, the event is based on the principal that people learn from mistakes. TYDS is non-competitive but has some similarity with a conventional 4x4 trial.

Fancy a day's greenlaning in Buckinghamshire?
- Tuff Terrains - Saturday 9th July 2005
Tuff Terrains, run by British Army instructor Bernie Pugh, is one of JeepClub's favourite venues. The site offers a unique mix of obstacles to satisfy drivers of every skill level from beginner to expert alike. Hill climbs and decents, marshes, streams and pools, and woodland expeditions with amazing sideslopes that will have you gripping your seat tightly. The day usually takes the form of instructor-led convoys around the 200 acre site, with the chance to stop and watch others before having a go yourself.
- Welsh Lanes - Sunday 10th July 2005
A scenic greenlane journey through fantastic Welsh countryside exploring in two small groups.
- Minstead Manor - Saturday 23rd July 2005
Minstead Manor is a picturesque wooded site set in the beautiful surroundings of the New Forest, and is a favourite with lots of our members. There are plenty of tracks around the site, but the bulk of the off-roading is to be had within the forest. Modifications to the site over the years have resulted in new forest runs and have made existing parts of the site more accessible. The site makes for a relaxing day's off-roading and an ideal place for a picnic with a difference, suitable for families and children.
